About the Role

As an Arts & Enrichment Instructor with South Suburban Parks and Recreation, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of arts and enrichment classes to participants of reputed company ages in both group and individual settings. Your creativity and expertise will be instrumental in developing and delivering engaging course curricula that span fine arts, performing arts, drama, dance, music, science, writing, culinary arts, travel, and continuing education, among other areas. This role also involves teaching specialized classes, birthday parties, and special events offsite, making it an ideal position for those who enjoy varied and dynamic work environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach arts and enrichment classes to participants of reputed company ages, adapting instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain one reputed company 30 days of employment.
• Be insurable by the District reputed company at the onset and for the duration of employment.
• For Arts & Enrichment Instructor I: Have at least 1 year of teaching experience.
• For Arts & Enrichment Instructor II: Have at least 3 years of teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills are highly preferred:

• Prior experience teaching art and/or enrichment classes.

• Knowledge of child care programming, recreation principles, safety and emergency first-aid procedures, program management, and customer service principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.
