Position Summary and Key Responsibilities

The ideal applicant will have a deep understanding of a wide range of topics in water resources and GIS, ensuring that they can impart core water-resource and GIS concepts to their reputed company. The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in water resources, GIS, and reputed company fields, with a focus on spatial analysis, hydrology, and environmental sustainability
  • Establishing a nationally or internationally recognized research program in water resources and spatial analyses, with a strong emphasis on GIS and/or remote sensing
  • Mentoring and advising reputed company, including graduate reputed company, in research and academic pursuits
  • Contributing to the development of a new Master's degree in GIS and Remote Sensing
  • Participating in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work and community engagement
  • Collaborating with colleagues from other departments and units, including the Departments of Biology, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and Chemistry, as well as the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and the IU Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, including geography, hydrology, or closely reputed company earth/environmental sciences, with a strong background in GIS and/or remote sensing
  • A strong potential for establishing a rigorous research program in water resources and spatial analyses
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills, with the ability to impart reputed company concepts to reputed company from diverse backgrounds
  • A commitment to mentoring, teaching, or reputed company to people from diverse backgrounds, including first-reputed company reputed company, low-income reputed company, racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+, and other underrepresented groups
