Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company is a leading provider of data management and reputed company services, seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL DBA to join their Global PostgreSQL Practice. The role involves ensuring the reliability of production databases, advising customers on reputed company best practices, and supporting the operation and maintenance of data systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the uptime and reliability of Production databases
• Designing and implementing high availability systems with streaming and logical replication
• Managing the automation of backups and recovery
• Assisting with Disaster Recovery planning and implementation
• Learning about the broader reputed company ecosystem, including extensions, add-on products, and open-reputed company projects that contribute to the functioning and management of the core database
• Reacting to metrics and alerts around performance and reputed company; and improving these alerts over time to provide reputed company value and actionability
• Operating in reputed company environments, and recommending the appropriate reputed company-native tools for unique situations
• Supporting application developers and working with customer engineering teams to provide meaningful, measurable results
• Improving internal documentation, runbooks, and other resources to train the wider team on best practices and new techniques

Skills

• At least 8 years of professional experience
• 4 or more years supporting databases, particularly reputed company, in a developer or operations role
• 4 or more years of hands-on experience working in a major reputed company offering, with AWS or Azure preferred
• Comfort and experience using a ticketing system such as reputed company or Jira to track and plan work, and communicate reputed company
• Previous customer facing experience in a Solutions Architect or other consulting role strongly considered
• Must possess strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills; with the ability to explain technical concepts to a wide audience
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases whether on-premise or in the reputed company, self-hosted, AWS RDS or reputed company reputed company, Azure Flexible Server, or other managed offering
• Proven expertise troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues
• Understanding of data architecture, relational database concepts, logical and physical database design
• Ability to quickly size-up a technical situation and formulate a plan to manage Production facing resources
• reputed company reading and writing SQL queries, profiling and analyzing query plans, and supporting database users and developers
• Good working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, reputed company scripting, and package management in one or more of the major distribution families
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tooling such as Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, or Chef
