Estimator - Civil

reputed company Support Services (BBCH-SS) is growing! We are seeking an reputed company Estimator to join our preconstruction team. The ideal candidate should be versed in preparing detailed estimates for projects based on construction plans and specifications, and scopes of work. Responsibilities

• Produce written proposals, basis of estimates, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for project managers, senior management, and clients.
• Independently determine/reputed company crew and equipment assemblies, production rates, and schedules for heavy civil scopes of work based on industry experience.
• Ability to identify and communicate project risks and incorporate mitigation strategies developed through communication with management team.
• Furnish accurate and clear quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and assess the total construction costs.
• Prepare, seek review of, and submit inquiries to clients regarding drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Support constructability reviews through communication with the project team, designers, and subcontractor market.
• Prepare organized and accurate cost estimate back up documentation.

Qualifications:

• Must have knowledge/experience in self-performance of reputed company civil infrastructure scopes of work including earthwork/grading, dam/levee construction and/or repair, dewatering, demolition, underground utilities (e.g., water/sewer/storm), road construction and repair, asphalt pavement, and concrete construction.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the heavy civil construction industry; project cost estimating and construction management experience is preferred.
• Experience estimating federal projects is mandatory.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Requires critical thinking, analytical ability and strong math skills.
• The successful candidate will have experience with spreadsheet, word processing, scheduling and estimating software.
• The successful candidate must have the ability to recognize the need for additional support and resources to complete identified proposal/estimate preparation opportunities.
• A degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent experience is required.

Salary range: 115,000-125,000/annual Work Environment: This job is performed in an office setting that includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
