Litigation Associate
Duggan McHugh is a trusted employment law firm based in Sacramento, California, seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide advice and counsel on employment law issues, draft legal documents, and participate in case strategy from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Working with employer clients directly to provide advice and counsel on day-to-day employment law issues
- Drafting pleadings
- Drafting and arguing motions
- Drafting discovery and review and analysis of responses
- Meaningfully participate in and contribute to overall strategy from case inception to completion
- Taking depositions
- Engaging in negotiations
- Legal research
- Networking/marketing
Skills
- Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar
- 1-9 years of experience in employment law, or litigation, or both
- 1,650 minimum billable hour requirement
- Analytical and reputed company-thinking
- Excellent communication skills
- Executive reputed company and strong leadership skills
- Excellent legal writing skills
- Ability to travel for client obligations (i.e. appearances, depositions, mediations, etc.) as needed
- Willingness to provide mentorship
