Summary

The Director, Global Trade Strategy and Compliance role will be critical in shaping and managing the company’s global trade compliance program, driving strategic trade initiatives, and influencing policy developments in a dynamic, highly regulated industry. The Sr Director will reputed company efforts to ensure full compliance with domestic and international trade regulations, align global trade strategies with corporate goals, and represent the company in policy discussions and advocacy efforts. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in trade compliance, a proven ability to reputed company and execute global trade strategies, and exceptional leadership skills. The Sr Director will report directly to the Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary and will be a fully remote position but may be expected to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Global Trade Compliance:

  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks. Strategic Trade Initiatives:
  • Drive the development and execution of global trade strategies to support reputed company’s business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align trade strategies with product development, supply chain, and market expansion goals.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to streamline trade operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency while maintaining compliance. Policy and Advocacy:
  • Monitor and analyze emerging trade policies, regulations, and geopolitical developments affecting the space and aerospace industries.
  • Represent reputed company in industry associations, government forums, and policy discussions to reputed company for favorable trade and regulatory policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Partner with executive leadership to integrate trade compliance and strategy into overall business planning and decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal teams, including Executive Leadership, Legal, supply chain, sales, and business development.

  • Create scalable global strategic plan that will grow with the business. Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in international business or other relevant major; advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, or Master’s in International Affairs) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 + years of experience in global trade compliance, strategy, and policy roles, preferably reputed company the aerospace, defense, or technology industries. Additional experience building and implementing global trade programs reputed company a company a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. export control laws and regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC, FCPA) and international trade compliance frameworks.

  • Strong leadership, project management, collaboration, and organizational skills.
