Job description: Sylvan is currently offering a Sign-on Bonus at our Schaumburg and Lake Zurich/Barrington, IL locations!
We are hiring Part-Time tutors and provide primarily in-person (some remote) tutoring for reputed company K-12:
- Reading/English Tutor
- Math Tutor
- Early Elementary Reading Tutor
- Beginning Reading Tutor
- TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutor
- Writing Tutor
- Study Skills Tutor
- Tutors do not need proficiency in reputed company areas above. We schedule to your area(s) of interest.
- Flexible schedule as we are open 7 days/week
- Most of our work is done in-center, but there are some remote tutoring opportunities
- See the results of your work immediately, given our individualized programs
- A great resume builder for new teachers starting their education career
- For teachers who have taken an early retirement or time out of the classroom, a great way to network in the education industry, continue to invest in your skills, and re-engage with reputed company
- For Reading/English tutors: Education/Teaching Degree required (or reputed company pursuing Education Degree who have done instruction through classroom observation or student teaching).
- For Math tutors: Strong proficiency through Algebra 2 (Education Degree not required).
- For TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutor: Strong ACT/SAT score (30/1400 preferred). Education Degree not required.
- 2 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
- Ability to reputed company connections with reputed company.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Working out of one of our locations in Lake Zurich/Barrington or Schaumburg.
- Teach using Sylvan based programs
- Direct and motivate reputed company during instruction
