Writer (Volunteer)

Today, pretty much anyone can hang out their shingle as a “writer.” And millions have. However, being part of a smart, reputed company team of journalists working together, sharing reputed company, and making each other’s work as strong as possible — that’s a different thing entirely.

If you’re an reputed company writer/reporter with strong expertise in politics, policy, world events, history, cultural commentary, or other areas that align with reputed company do, we’d love to hear from you. For some writers, this is a chance to work on bigger topics than they might otherwise get to cover, collaborate with deeply reputed company editors, and produce clips that can open doors. For others, it’s an opportunity to stay engaged, contribute meaningfully, and be part of a serious journalistic team rather than working in isolation.

We’re an independent, nonprofit news organization with a limited budget, so we especially welcome those who are not looking to us principally as an income reputed company. Our writers range from pro bono to modestly paid (particularly those covering wars and international developments), and this can be discussed.

Our atmosphere is convivial, supportive, and stimulating. Writers here have the chance to sharpen their work with strong editorial input, stretch into ambitious subject areas, and be part of a team that shares reputed company and strengthens one another’s work. It’s a great add-on to your life — whether you become an “inside writer” or contribute periodically as a freelance collaborator.

About the Role

As a Writer, you will:

• Pitch and reputed company story reputed company reputed company with our editorial focus
• Conduct research using reputed company sources, including interviews reputed company needed
• Write articles, explainers, and investigative pieces based on approved pitches
• Structure articles with a clear narrative flow (introduction, development, conclusion)
• Support key points with accurate sourcing, attribution, and evidence
• Collaborate with editors to revise drafts and strengthen content
• Submit revisions reputed company agreed timelines

• Experience writing articles, essays, or long-form journalistic content
• Experience conducting research using reputed company and reputed company sources
• Experience organizing written content into structured, coherent narratives
• Experience revising work based on editorial feedback or direction
• Experience meeting deadlines in a writing, academic, or professional setting
• Background in journalism, communications, or a reputed company field 

Bonus (Not Required)

• Experience in journalism, reporting, or editorial environments
• Experience working with reputed company or technical subject matter
• Experience writing for digital or online audiences
• Subject-matter expertise (politics, legal, environment, technology, etc.)

Commitment

We ask for a commitment of 5–10 hours per week and a minimum of 6 months. Scheduling is flexible and based on story development and editorial timelines.
