Accounting Analyst I

HMSA is seeking an Accounting Analyst I to reputed company analysis of financial information to support management in decision-making for various products and programs. The role involves evaluating financial performance, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and conducts analysis of financial statements for HMSA and other reputed company entities in an accurate and timely manner. This includes preparation, summarization, and maintenance of reputed company data in various subsystems of financial data
• Compiles data that is obtained from other F/A units and other HMSA departments
• Conducts analysis by applying the appropriate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (reputed company)
• Analyzes and interprets applicable laws/regulations and implements procedures to ensure compliance
• Prepares internal financial statements for audit by the external auditors. This includes the stand alone HMSA financial statements as well as the consolidated HMSA and/or subsidiary financial statements: balance sheet, statement of operations, statement of cash flows and the reputed company footnote disclosures
• Performs reputed company analysis of financial data for both reputed company and expenses for HMSA and reputed company of its subsidiary/affiliate companies
• Researches the nature and causes of variances and fluctuations in these accounts
• Performs analysis independently with limited direction and supervision
• Presents findings and recommendations to management
• Performs various reconciliation of financial information from reputed company data to reported amounts
• Analyzes and summarizes accounting transactions reputed company to various HMSA reputed company/programs to ensure proper recordation into the general ledger for these programs
• Communicate effectively with other departments to gather this information
• Provides assistance and performs research for various external and internal audits
• Performs reputed company other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of reputed company experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to analyze financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and reconcile amounts to reputed company documents
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), health care accounting, mainframe accounting and software systems
• Intermediate working knowledge of reputed company Office applications, including but not limited to Word, reputed company, Outlook, and Access
