Job Summary:
We're seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join reputed company as a part-time dock worker. In this role, you'll be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including freight handling, customer service, and documentation. If you're a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* reputed company freight handling using appropriate motorized and reputed company equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Verify documentation matches freight description, using reputed company electronic or reputed company systems
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies, such as pallets, straps, and rope
- Recoup or repair damaged freight reputed company necessary
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports
- Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed
- reputed company hostling duties if required
- reputed company with reputed company applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures
- reputed company other duties as required
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, and/or forklift operations preferred
- If hostler/yard mule duties are required, experience is preferred
- Ability to count and reputed company basic math, with or without a calculator
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout the shift
- Ability to work independently and/or as a team member
- Previous dock/warehouse experience is preferred
Working Conditions:
* Dock environment; exposure to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise
- Hours may vary due to operational need
- Frequent contact with service center personnel; fast-paced, deadline-oriented
