Senior Data Scientist - Delivery Technology

As a Senior Data Scientist at Gopuff working on the Delivery Technology Team, you will lead the vision and delivery of data driven models to optimize the delivery experience for consumers and delivery partners on our platform across dispatch optimization, delivery routing/ETAs, driver pricing/incentives, as well as the delivery partner experience. All of that, with a direct impact on the delivery experience that is so core to serving our customers’ immediate needs, means you’ll have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the future success of Gopuff. We’re looking for a doer, problem solver, and thought-leader. This is an onsite position reporting to our Philadelphia, PA or Aventura, FL office five days per week. You Will

• Own the end-to-end development and operation of deep learning–based ETA prediction systems—building features, training/testing models, running experiments, monitoring and explaining performance in production.
• Collaborate with our business, product, and engineering partners across the organization to vision and deliver data science solutions for practical business problems.
• Deeply understand our users, our products, and our data to identify opportunities for creating machine learning, optimization and causal inference solutions to deliver a better customer experience and make our business more efficient.
• Build data driven, robust and replicable data science models.
• Use experimentation and causal inference to measure the impact of our models on user engagement and business metrics.

You Have

• MS or PhD in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field with 2+ years of experience working in delivery and/or logistics (or 8+ years of industry experience in data science).
• Strong ability in translating ambiguous business problems into well-defined technical objectives and providing concrete data science solutions.
• Expert in machine learning, statistics, and experimentation.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and source control management tools.

Compensation

• Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Exceptions may be made for exceptional individuals. For additional information on this role’s compensation package, please reach out to the designated recruiter for this role.
• This role is eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus and participation in Gopuff’s equity incentive plan.
• Base Salary Range: $175,000 - $220,000
