Our client, a cutting-edge biotechnology firm, is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Research Scientist, Genomics, to join their innovative R&D team in Denver, Colorado, US . This senior scientific role will drive the discovery and development of novel genomic technologies and applications. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in genomics, molecular biology, or a related field, extensive experience in leading research projects, and a proven track record of scientific publication and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Lead and design complex research projects focused on advancing genomic technologies and their applications in areas such as diagnostics, therapeutics, and agricultural science. Develop and validate cutting-edge genomic assays and analytical methodologies. Analyze large-scale genomic datasets using advanced bioinformatics tools and statistical approaches. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including molecular biologists, bioinformaticians, computational scientists, and clinical researchers. Mentor and guide junior scientists and research associates, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and innovation. Author and contribute to high-impact scientific publications, patents, and grant proposals. Present research findings at national and international scientific conferences. Stay abreast of the latest advancements and emerging trends in genomics, bioinformatics, and related fields. Contribute to the strategic direction of the genomics research program and identify new areas for scientific exploration. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and ethical research standards. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 8 years of post-doctoral research experience in an academic or industry setting, with a significant focus on genomics. Demonstrated expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, library preparation, and data analysis. Strong proficiency in bioinformatics tools, statistical software (e.g., R), and programming languages (e.g., Python). Proven experience in leading independent research projects and managing research teams. Excellent publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Strong understanding of experimental design and data interpretation. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts effectively. Experience in proposal writing and securing research funding is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, hybrid research environment.
