. This is a remote-first position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from your preferred location while driving the formulation and development of groundbreaking cosmetic products. You will be at the forefront of cosmetic science, conceptualizing, formulating, and optimizing skincare, haircare, and color cosmetic products that meet the highest standards of efficacy, safety, and consumer appeal. Responsibilities include conducting extensive research on new ingredients, raw materials, and emerging market trends to identify opportunities for product innovation. You will lead formulation development, bench testing, stability studies, and scale-up processes, ensuring seamless transitions from concept to manufacturing. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory affairs, and packaging, will be crucial to bring successful products to market. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cosmetic chemistry, formulation techniques, and the regulatory landscape governing the beauty industry. You will mentor junior chemists, foster a collaborative R&D environment, and contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolio. The successful applicant will be a visionary chemist, eager to push the boundaries of cosmetic science. Key Responsibilities: Lead the formulation and development of innovative cosmetic products, including skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics. Research and evaluate new ingredients, raw materials, and formulation technologies. Conduct bench-top formulation, testing, and optimization to achieve desired product attributes. Oversee stability testing, efficacy assessments, and safety evaluations of new formulations. Collaborate with marketing and consumer insights teams to define product concepts and requirements. Work closely with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with global cosmetic regulations. Manage the scale-up process from lab bench to pilot and full production. Mentor and guide junior formulation chemists, fostering their technical development. Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and documentation for all R&D activities. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and scientific advancements in cosmetic chemistry. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field. Ph.D. is a plus. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in cosmetic product development and formulation. Proven track record of successfully bringing new cosmetic products to market. Expertise in various cosmetic product categories (skincare, haircare, color cosmetics). In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, raw materials, and their functions. Experience with formulation testing, stability programs, and claim substantiation. Strong understanding of global cosmetic regulations (e.g., FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
