What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

  • Plan programs and assess the effectiveness of services for students with exceptional needs
  • Ensure best practices in behavioral interventions and support for students as outlined in IEPs
  • Provide leadership in curriculum, instruction, and modifications for diverse learning needs
  • Manage difficult cases, including attending IEP meetings and applying conflict resolution strategies
  • Evaluate Ed Specialists and provide leadership in supervising special education team members

What is Required (Qualifications)

  • Master's Degree in Special Education or related field preferred
  • Clear CA Education Specialist Credential and CLAD certification required
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in special education leadership
  • Proven successful teaching or related service provision in Special Education
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience, including supervisory roles

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • CPI certification desired
  • CA Administrative Services Credential desired
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
