Location: This is a home-based position, however you must currently reside in the Eastern United States to be considered for the role. Position Overview As a MPU Field Application Engineer, based in the Eastern U.S., you’ll be one of the key contributor in the Customer Application Support team supporting designs in Industrial and IoT application spaces. You drive demand creation and design-in activity at customer sites in close cooperation with the NXP business lines; you provide technical skills & support to NXP’s sales staff by driving resolution of technical issues and identifying future roadmap needs of your customer(s). Key Responsibilities for the role: Deliver premium technical support in content and time to assigned customers 100% Accountable to drive design wins in their target accounts and target technology Leads proof of concept, solution design and demonstrations to secure NXP solution’s design-in Synthesizes customer and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps Establishes the value proposition of NXP's system solutions relative to competition Successfully builds relationships with sales team members, business lines, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives Analyzes customer's technical objectives using relevant data gathering techniques enabling the sales team to be more productive, effective and responsive to customer needs Assists in educating sales and distribution partners on new technologies, new product features and their related business value Develops system level knowledge of target application spaces Key Success Attributes Masters the fundamental mechanics of the sales call Ability to influence and communicate the value of NXP’s products, based on inspiration, motivation and product expertise Flexible; adapts to plans easily when circumstances change Is aware of cultural differences and adapts his/her behavior accordingly Feels challenged by initiating and driving innovations Comfortable within a high performance culture, working in a target driven environment with design win and revenue targets to enhance the company’s market share High level of integrity, credibility, tenacity and commitment to excellence Curious about target customer needs, competitor technology, the eco system and next generation technologies Builds a reputation of being the go-to person for regional and business line teams to create opportunities to win and problem solve Essential Requirements Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and minimum 5 years development engineering or applications support of SoC based embedded systems Field Application Engineering experience in the semiconductor industry Demonstrated knowledge of typical SoC hardware interfaces (Ethernet, MIPI, SDIO, LP DDR4, 5, Quad/Octal SPI, USB, ) and ARM Cortex A and M based register programming models. Hands on knowledge of graphics and video subsystems and related software drivers helpful Familiarity with Embedded Edge AI Concepts, Tools and Model deployment is a plus Hands on experience in embedded Linux: kernel and user-space and uboot environments Ability to read, understand and review schematics and provide design recommendations essential Experience with custom board bring-up debug activities recommended Willing to travel for customer meetings, trainings Experienced in providing technical training to sales staff and distribution Proven track record of quickly learning new technologies More information about NXP in the United States...
