iOS App Developer for AI Chat App
Hello I'm Mert, I'm building a German-language iOS companion chat app, where users chat with AI versions of real influencers in conversational, emotionally engaging ways. Think Character.AI meets Cal AI, focused on the DACH market. The app will integrate OpenAI for chat and supports Apple subscriptions. The ideal candidate has experience in iOS mobile app development, and be familiar with AI integration and subscription models. Project scope (V1): - User onboarding (Apple/Google login, age check, mood selection) - Home page with AI character profiles, search, categories - Chat interface with OpenAI GPT integration (streaming, memory system, system prompts per character) - Hard paywall after 4 messages - Apple In-App-Purchase (7-day trial + yearly/monthly subscriptions) - Push notifications with re-engagement sequences - User profile, subscription management, GDPR-compliant data export & deletion - ~19 screens, fully designed in Illustrator/ PDF (provided by me) Tech stack preferences: - Flutter OR React Native (your choice based on expertise) - Supabase or Firebase for backend (your recommendation) - OpenAI API for chat - Apple App Store deployment What I provide: - Complete UI designs (all 19 screens, pixel-ready PDF) - Detailed technical brief with all flows and edge cases - GDPR-compliant legal texts (via IT-Recht Kanzlei) - Active communication and quick decisions What I'm looking for: - 6-8 weeks development timeline - Daily or weekly progress updates (your preference) - Code in MY GitHub repository (non-negotiable) - Clean, documented, maintainable code - Long-term collaboration potential (V2 and V3 features already planned: paid voice messages, advanced memory...) Selection process (important): I will shortlist 3-5 candidates from the proposals and ask them to complete a small PAID test task (~$50 USD, 2-3 hours work) before making the final decision. The test task will be a single chat screen with Apple login. this guarantees I see real code quality before committing to the full project. If you're selected for the full project, this $50 is included in your first milestone payment. Must include in your proposal: 1. Links to 2-3 iOS apps you've built (App Store links please not just designs or screenshots) 2. Your preferred tech stack (Flutter vs React Native) and WHY 3.
