Why This Role Matters

As a Remote Data Entry & Building Controls Specialist, you will be at the intersection of client support, building automation, and data‑driven decision making. This position is critical to ensuring that arenaflex’s facilities operate efficiently, that our customers receive prompt and accurate service, and that operational costs are minimized through proactive problem‑solving and intelligent automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain building control programs that optimize lighting, HVAC, and energy consumption across arenaflex facilities.
  • Enter, validate, and manage large volumes of data related to building performance, service tickets, and customer interactions with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Facilities Operations, IT, and Customer Experience—to share data, tools, and best practices.
  • Identify client and business needs, translate them into actionable work orders, and ensure delivery within agreed timelines.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to peers on adapting to new technologies, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing proactive solutions.
  • Develop, document, and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) that address recurring business challenges and improve overall service quality.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources, generate performance reports, and present insights to senior leadership to drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor system alerts, alarms, and work orders, responding promptly to resolve incidents and prevent service disruptions.
  • Participate in project teams focused on building automation upgrades, ensuring that data integrity and system reliability are maintained throughout the lifecycle.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards while reducing support costs through efficient processes.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 2‑3 years of experience in data entry, building controls, or a similar client‑support role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting productivity targets.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with data management tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI) and familiarity with building automation platforms (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, Schneider Electric, or similar).
  • Track record of delivering high‑quality customer service and maintaining client satisfaction under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or VBA to automate data‑entry workflows.
  • Knowledge of energy‑efficiency standards and sustainability initiatives within large‑scale facilities.
  • Certification in Building Automation (e.g., Certified Automation Professional) or related fields.
  • Previous exposure to remote monitoring systems and IoT devices used in commercial environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence and coach teammates across multiple locations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to evolving business requirements.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Problem‑Solving: Anticipate issues, develop proactive solutions, and execute corrective actions with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure data accuracy, maintain meticulous records, and follow SOPs rigorously.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with diverse teams, share knowledge, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Prioritize client well‑being, respond promptly to inquiries, and strive for service excellence.
