Contract Writer
This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with People Inc. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes. Contract Writer Allrecipes, the number one food site on the internet, is looking for a digital Contract Writer to report on food news & trends. In this role, you will pitch ideas, report stories, and occasionally update existing stories as they develop and/or become newsworthy. This role is 25 hours/week with the expectation of delivering 6-8 articles each week. In this role you will: Pitch and write 6-8 daily food news and trend stories per week Make sure stories are optimized with catchy headlines and strong ledes Find and interview food industry experts for stories that require additional reporting Monitor for breaking news and be ready to report them in real-time Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Experience: 1-3 years of editorial experience working in digital media with a food/cooking focus CMS experience required Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities: Personal interest in the food and recipes space Detail-oriented and deadline-focused A self-starter who can pivot seamlessly as new initiatives and directives are identified and adjusts processes accordingly Familiarity with SEO best practices Proficiency in project management tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, or similar Rate: $25/hour Start Date: July 6, 2026 End Date: Jan 6, 2027 Location: Remote - US People Inc. is the largest print and digital publisher in America.
