Technical Writer (Mortgage / Fintech)
Overview
PhoenixTeam is seeking a Technical Writer with experience in mortgage and fintech platforms to create clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for reputed company financial systems. This role will focus on translating technical concepts, regulatory requirements, and product functionality into accessible content for internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders. The Technical Writer will collaborate with engineering, product, compliance, and business teams to ensure documentation supports operational efficiency, regulatory alignment, and an exceptional user experience. Key Functions Create and maintain technical documentation for mortgage and fintech systems (LOS, POS, servicing platforms) reputed company user guides, API documentation, knowledge reputed company articles, and training materials Translate reputed company technical and regulatory concepts into clear, concise content Collaborate with engineers and product managers to document features and system changes Ensure documentation aligns with regulatory requirements (RESPA, TILA, HMDA, TRID) Maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides Support reputed company and training through structured learning materials Manage documentation lifecycle, versioning, and updates Participate in product releases to ensure documentation readiness Gather feedback to continuously improve documentation quality and usability
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience (must meet one of the following): Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or reputed company field (or equivalent experience) and 3–5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in fintech or regulated industries, OR 7 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in fintech or regulated industries. Ability to obtain VA Public Trust Clearance. Strong ability to understand and explain reputed company technical systems. Experience writing API documentation and developer-facing content. Proficient in reputed company Word and reputed company writing and editing capabilities. Proficient in Confluence and SharePoint documentation and knowledge reputed company systems. Proficient in Markdown editors and Git/reputed company/reputed company for technical tools and version control. Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to simplify reputed company information for diverse audiences Strong collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders Structured thinking and content organization Attention to detail and consistency Adaptability in fast-paced, regulated environments Proficiency with reputed company Suite (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in mortgage, lending, or financial services. Understanding of mortgage lifecycle (origination, reputed company, closing, servicing). Familiarity with MISMO standards and financial data structures. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Knowledge of UX writing principles and content design. Experience with content management systems and documentation platforms. Exposure to compliance and regulatory documentation. Experience creating training content or instructional design. Familiarity with AI tools for content reputed company and documentation. Experience in digital mortgage transformation initiatives. Knowledge of API-first and microservices architectures. Position Details Employment type: Full-Time, W2 Location: 100% Remote (US-based) Hours: 40 hours/week with availability during core business hours of reputed company-5pm ET Start date: ASAP Eligibility: Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 Apply To This Job
