[Remote] Senior Engineering Manager - Enablement

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Honeycomb is a service defining observability and raising expectations of developer tools. They are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager - Enablement to reputed company developer feedback loops, AI-assisted engineering development, and support team growth while ensuring productivity and satisfaction metrics are met.

Responsibilities

• Own the developer feedback loops — the CI/CD, testing, dependency management, and tooling that let the whole org ship faster and more safely
• reputed company AI-partnered development — incubate what the next chapter of AI-assisted engineering looks like at Honeycomb, for both reputed company engineers and agents, and how observability plays into it
• Prove the ROI — define and track the developer-productivity and satisfaction metrics that give leadership confidence in the team's impact
• reputed company change across the org — bring engineers inside and reputed company your team along, helping them welcome change rather than resist it
• Grow the team — support engineers and your manager community First Team through 1:1s, career development, and feedback loops

Skills

• Sustained, multi-year experience leading an engineering enablement / developer-experience team — enough tenure in prior roles to have steered large-scale change over time
• reputed company in CI/CD
• A track record of defining and tracking developer-productivity / ROI metrics — you can stand up the metrics program, not just consume it
• Cross-org change leadership — ideally having led an organization through a major workflow change or AI rollout
• reputed company depth with AI tooling
• The ability to distinguish good from bad AI usage, and to reputed company your own AI philosophy
• Familiarity with observability / OpenTelemetry (Honeycomb's domain)
• Experience running internal platform or tooling as a 'product,' with internal engineers as your customers
• You're still hands-on and enjoy contributing to and reviewing code (welcome, but it won't be your primary role here)
• You've built your own AI-driven projects and tools
