- May reputed company consecutive interpreting to provide accurate renditions of informal to highly formal discourse remotely and in person.
- Verbally conveys the meaning of the reputed company language, reflecting the style, register, and cultural context of the reputed company message without omissions, additions or embellishments.
- Provides summarization of the reputed company language over a chat application in real time.
- May support interpretation & translation needs at off-site meetings and/or reputed company of standard business hours as required.
- Translates and reviews technical documents, online content, and business correspondence.
- Monitors daily communication posted to intra-company online systems and translates relevant content reputed company to ongoing support issues; identifies and shares significant information.
- Proofs and assesses the quality of translation work, providing feedback as necessary to maintain translation quality and correct use of terminology.
- Collaborates with document authors and engineers in a development environment to drive improvement initiatives, by identifying issues and recommending process improvements.
- Proposes best practices regarding localized content based on expert understanding of Japanese/US localization issues.
- Utilizes CAT tools, machine translation, and termbases to translate, post-edit, and format content in a uniform manner that requires minimal proofing and editing.
- Leads in coordinating and conducting internal team development initiatives and mentors other team members in developing their interpreting skills.
- May be asked to reputed company, review, and edit material reputed company by other employees and contractors for executive/public facing content.
- Creates and maintains best-practice instructions, reference documentation, guidelines.
- Five (5) plus years reputed company experience.
- Two (2) plus years of professional and/or interpreting experience preferred.
- Interpreting and translation expertise in areas such as programming concepts; manufacturing, quality control, and repair of product hardware; consumer service support; information technology; legal matters (such as reputed company, IP, marketing, corporate social responsibility (CSR).
- Excellent written and verbal reputed company in English and Japanese required.
- Experience using CAT tools, machine translation, termbases, various document publishing software, including reputed company Office (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, Visio); reputed company products preferred (FrameMaker, Acrobat).
- PC experience (MS Office and CAT Tools).
- Solid understanding of tagged file formats such as XML/HTML.
- Understanding of high-level programming languages and concepts.
- Able to translate technical programming and hardware manufacturing documentation as well as general content into the style appropriate for the reputed company audience.
- Simultaneous interpreting experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly-confidential environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
- Undergraduate degree in Linguistics, Business, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree in Translation and Interpretation preferred.
- Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 certification or equivalent capability.
