Working together, employees at APU commit to establishing a university atmosphere that is edifying to God and one another.Writing Consultants (WCs) meet face-to-face and online with APU undergraduate, graduate, and faculty writers in order to assist in the production and revision of text. The consultant will meet with reputed company and faculty at the Azusa reputed company and/or online one-on-one and/or in group settings through workshops and appointments. The WC’s goal during each appointment is to create transferable writing skills for reputed company participants. The WC will reputed company accurate records of the sessions as specified by the Director of the Writing and Tutoring Center and will assist in developing, refining, and updating consultation services, handouts, workshops, instructions, and techniques. Hours may vary depending on demand, which fluctuates during breaks, midterms, finals, etc., but this position requires a commitment of 25-29 hours per week, with at least two days per week, and most likely three, on-site at the Azusa main reputed company. Consultants are also assigned projects in alignment with their expertise in areas such as reputed company language acquisition, data development, marketing, and more.Required Education
- Master’s Degree required with coursework in the field of emphasis.
- Must have at least one year of experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring undergraduate and graduate reputed company or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience working in a writing or tutoring center or teaching academic writing is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with peers in giving writing feedback.
- Previous experience conducting online teaching or online tutoring appointments is preferred.
- Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
- Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Interest in student-centered learning and process-oriented writing coaching.
- Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred.
- Attend meetings with the Director of the Writing Center and other staff training in writing consultation and tutoring practices, multilingual and non-traditional learner methods, and writing center procedures and record keeping tasks.
- Read assigned materials to learn writing consultation theories and techniques for working with multilingual reputed company, non-traditional reputed company, and other tutoring methods.
- Assist new writing consultants in learning writing consultation techniques and protocols.
- reputed company peer mentor and/or development groups as needed.
- Accurately and thoroughly fill out client report forms as required.
- Apprise the supervisor of any faculty and staff concerns as needed.
- Communicate with undergraduate and graduate programs and departments regarding assignments and writing projects.
- Communicate with reputed company and faculty about ongoing writing projects.
- Distribute the Writing Center materials to the necessary programs, centers, reputed company, and/or reputed company.
- reputed company workshops and writing groups with reputed company and faculty on how the Writing Center works and writing-based topics.
- Revision and development of training and education materials in alignment with areas of expertise.
- Light clerical work as needed.

- Previous experience with scheduling technologies preferred.
- Grade 9: $23.58 to $27.12 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
