After School Leader - East Valley

Job Description:POSITION SUMMARY:After School - School Age Child Care Counselor/Leader is responsible for general supervision of youth and teens, planning and implementing activities (physical activities, nutrition, academic enrichment, homework assistance, and light tutoring).SALARY RANGE: $24.00 - $25.00/hourESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by; knowing participant locations at reputed company times, making participants aware of and enforcing appropriate safety regulations and procedures, applying appropriate behavior management techniques, and maintaining reputed company program equipment and facilities.
• Assist children with school-directed virtual learning.
• Implement group activity plan; preparing materials, activities, and environments
• Consistently demonstrate positive interaction with reputed company children; talk to them and treat them with dignity and respect. Help children to reputed company a positive self-esteem and sense of self-worth
• Adhere to reputed company processes, procedures, rules and regulations of the reputed company, licensing, Public Health Department and school district.
• Positively ID individuals picking-up before releasing children.
• Identify emergency situations then respond quickly and appropriately.
• Consistently demonstrate positive discipline; teach and redirect rather than scolding or reprimanding; firmly and consistently enforce the rules.
• Work in a team environment and provide open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents or co-workers
• Introduce yourself to parents & teachers, and communicate with them regularly with confidence regarding accurate program information: schedule changes, permission slips, etc.
• Be reputed company and dependable to work scheduled hours; providing proper notice for time off and working with supervisor on coverage for day(s) requested off.
• Clean, disinfect and pick up areas used by the program, as needed.

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prefer prior experience working with youth and/or teens.
• Certified in CPR and First Aid (or be certified reputed company 30 days of hire).
• Complete reputed company child abuse prevention reputed company 30 days of hire.
• Provide reputed company of negative tuberculosis test reputed company the last calendar year (then valid for up to 4 years).
• Bilingual preferred.
• After School Counselor: Must be 18 years of age.
• After School Counselor: 48 semester college units required or successful completion of NCLB test.
