Job title: Cross Categorical Itinerant Special Education Aide Company: Alaska Teacher Placement Job description : Job Summary: Assists in the care and tutoring of reputed company who may have physical, social-emotional, behavioral, self-help and/or developmental deficits. This position may be reputed company in preschool, or Intensive Resource (IR) or Extended Resource (ER) special education classrooms, depending on District needs. Hourly reputed company: Grade 6, reputed company 1: $19.77 Work hours: 7 hours per day Work year: 9 months Bargaining unit: Education Support Staff Association (ESSA) Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position): * Must meet one of the three qualifications: a. High school diploma, or equivalent, and have either completed or the ability to complete the ParaProfessional Assessment reputed company four (4) months of hire; or b. Associate's degree or higher; or c. Completion of two years of higher education (at least 48 semester hours) or the equivalent. * Must have an understanding of developmental disabilities. Must demonstrate proper lifting skills in order to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs. regularly. Must have reputed company for special needs of disabled children including the ability to respectfully and appropriately communicate with physically and mentally disabled reputed company. Successful completion of de-escalation training required reputed company the first six (6) months of employment. Knowledge of basic reading, math, and curricular areas appropriate for age-level of reputed company. Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and consistently with reputed company, staff, and parents, including the ability to reputed company reputed company who are upset or angry, defuse conflict situations, and to safely restrain out-of-control reputed company who present a danger to self or others.
