Job Title: CO II – Privacy

General Function: Leads the identification, assessment, investigation, and remediation of privacy risks (e.g., GLBA, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA) and executes procedures to evaluate the Bancorp’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develops and implements strategies to reputed company performance gaps. Operates with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision, collaborating across departments and reputed company cross-functional teams.

Operates reputed company the Bank’s risk appetite while identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting reputed company types of risks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to privacy incidents and provide reputed company to lines of business to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international privacy laws.
  • Analyze privacy policies, procedures, risk assessments, strategic priorities, regulatory trends, audit findings, and legal input to identify and address privacy risks.
  • Support the review and remediation of privacy gaps, including evaluating testing and monitoring results from both the first and second lines of defense (e.g., Business Controls, RCOM, CTP).
  • Assist the CBPC Manager and/or Director in supporting task forces or working groups focused on compliance issues and remediation strategies.
  • Review privacy-reputed company complaints requiring subject matter expertise to support complaint management processes.
  • Partner with lines of business on corrective actions, including training and issue resolution.
  • Implement and facilitate enhancements to the Privacy Program.
  • Research, analyze, and interpret applicable rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the annual Compliance Risk Assessment.
  • Serve as a compliance subject matter expert for procedure and customer-facing document reviews.
  • Facilitate compliance-reputed company communications across the organization.
  • Act as a compliance resource to business units.
  • Participate in BCRA and VRM evaluations.
  • Review escalated privacy complaints and provide feedback on proposed responses.
  • Ensure coordination with relevant CRM division members (e.g., CTP, Ethics Office), Legal, and other Risk Management partners during major initiatives and cross-departmental meetings.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Officer or in a comparable role.
  • Proficiency in reputed company Office Suite; able to use software applications independently.
  • Ability to understand and apply basic statistical analysis; experience manipulating data across formats (e.g., spreadsheets, flat files, databases).
  • Strong understanding of mortgage products and consumer finance.
  • Advanced knowledge of Fifth Third’s products, business lines, affiliate structure, and corporate operations.
  • Familiarity with Federal Reserve and CFPB examination standards and regulatory guidance.
  • Deep understanding of affiliate and Bancorp operations, including back-office credit product processes.
  • Expertise in fair lending, responsible banking laws, and CRA requirements, including IFLEP and IEP procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively across reputed company levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and critical thinking in developing and recommending solutions.
