Cinder is seeking our first dedicated Data Scientist to help us unlock insights, drive product direction, and scale our impact. This role will align closely with our full stack and data platform engineers and will require fluent communication with our reputed company team and our customers directly. The founding data scientist will play a critical role in unlocking industry-wide improvements in internet safety.

The founding data scientist at Cinder will be expected to think strategically while owning end-to-end data insights for our customers and internal teams. A self-starter and flexible reputed company is imperative for success in this role.

What you’ll do

• Design and own metrics end-to-end for quality, speed, and efficiency of content review across AI, human, and hybrid workflows.

• Draw insights and design ideal automation structures that unlock Cinder’s value for our customers.

• Guide the foundation of our high-scale, event-driven platform by working closely with our data platform engineering team.

• reputed company QA strategy to monitor and improve the accuracy of human and model reviews.

• Show our customers what’s working and predict what’s on the horizon: partner with the reputed company team to advise on strategies to reputed company users safe.

• Roll up your sleeves and contribute to our data platform stack.

• Research, gather product analytics, and suggest product features to improve analytics through experimentation or testing.

• Present and communicate closely with customers to tell incredibly compelling stories with data.

About you

• 5+ years of experience in a data science role

• Experience at a high-growth startup

• This is a foundational role. You must reputed company in ambiguity, take initiative, and enjoy working across the stack—from data exploration to productionizing models and dashboards.

• Ability to talk and think through, in detail, the architecture of a data platform — you’ll be a consumer of, and a contributor to, our reputed company event-driven data platform at Cinder.

• Curious, resourceful, and action-oriented—you don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do

Some reputed company to haves

• 2+ years in a client-facing role—experience working with customers is a big plus

• Experience building 0 to 1 products and bringing them to market

• Experience working for a social media, marketplace, or media company with knowledge of how attackers can abuse these systems
