Compensation: $1500/credit Job Description: The Graduate Institute at the School for International Training (SIT) invites ongoing applications for a part-time instructor pool. We have a wide range of Master's programs, both low-residency and global, as well as a low-residency doctoral program. My courses are online and can be taught remotely, but we also periodically seek adjuncts located in one of our global learning locations to teach in person. We are looking for adjunct instructors across all our programs. Our course offerings are listed below. When applying, please indicate which courses you would be qualified to teach.   • Deliver instruction appropriate to the topic, course description, intended learning outcomes, level, and student audience.
  • Promote and facilitate student success by creating an environment conducive to inclusive and experiential learning.
  • Manage the learning environment through effective record-keeping, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school/campus academic, code of conduct, and attendance policies.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in a related field, with experience in a position relevant to the course topic.
  • Graduate teaching experience is desirable.
  • Background in inclusive teaching, global education, and experiential learning
  • Experience with the course management system Canvas preferred

Global Masters in Diplomacy and International Relations

  • Professional Development Seminar 2 - 0.5 Credits

Doctorate in Global Education

  • Theoretical Foundations 1 - 3 Credits
  • Theoretical Foundations 2 - 3 Credits
  • Research Methods 1: Qualitative Approaches: Ethnography, Phenomenology, Case Study
  • Research Methods 2: Qualitative Approaches: Grounded Theory, Discourse Analysis, Action Research, Participatory Action Research
  • Research Methods 3: Introduction to Statistical Methods in Education
  • Research Methods 4: Advanced Qualitative and Quantitative Data Analysis

Doctorate in International Relations

  • Global Governance and Human Security (3 credits)
  • Quantitative Research Methods (3 credits)

Application Instructions: Please note that all part-time instructor postings are for adjunct pools. Positions may or may not be immediately available, however whenever openings occur, department chairs will turn to the adjunct pools to fill the openings. Applicants to these pools will not hear back on their status unless an opening occurs and the department chair decides to interview that candidate to possibly fill the new opening.
