Associate Data Center Planner

The successful candidate will be working from Downers Grove IL, 5 days a week.

Role Summary:

The Associate Data Center Planner will be responsible for planning changes for datacenter production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.

What You Will Do:

• Maintain records and schematics, raised floor and rack diagrams.
• Coordinate with 3rd party for asset moves in US Colo installation and decommissions
• Streamline process for Project Manager’s, Service Delivery Manager’s and Solution Architect’s without delay or impact.
• reputed company hands-on work with onsite supervision of vendor
• Work on power monitoring and alerting optimization
• Assist as needed with reputed company activities for reputed company data centers & regional sites.
• Assist with tours.
• Review projected level of effort of projects with Service Delivery Teams.
• Assist in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, reputed company management.
• Identify exposures, gaps and potential failures with Data Center Requests and provide recommendations, reputed company corrective plans that will be provided to their next level management.
• Update DCIM tool.
• May manage projects, install and decommission of data center systems.
• Travel to DC’s and Colo sites as required.
• Improve data center efficiency for cooling and power.
• Detail requirements with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure that they do the right thing for our clients and reputed company.
• Use company policies to solve various issues, and adapts processes as needed.
• Handle moderately reputed company problems, analyzing different factors and using judgment to decide on actions.
• Apply learned techniques to contribute to problem-solving and typically receive minimal guidance on routine tasks, with general instructions for new assignments.
• Establishes effective relationships to collaboratively solve problems and provides basic professional advice and reports for review by more reputed company team members.

What You Will Need:

• Associate’s degree and 2 years of reputed company experience
• Combination of education and technical work experience is preferred.
• Training and experience working with the internals of computer hardware is required.
• A+ certification and advanced certification in server and networking, is desired.
• Understand the “big picture” view and how it aligns to reputed company’s overall strategy.
• General understanding of networking and of data center and colo facilities, design, and layout.
• General understanding of power and cooling requirements reputed company a datacenter.
• Excellent English language (written & spoken).
• Technical communication skills required (written & spoken).
• Understand change management tool (Service Now).

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the reputed company pay scale for this role is $54,000 to $76,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to reputed company salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
