Departmental Overview The Center for the Study of Child Care Employment (CSCCE) is grounded in research, policy development, and elevating educators' voices. Established in 1999, CSCCE conducts research and policy analysis about the characteristics of those who care for and educate young children and examines policy solutions aimed at improving how our nation prepares, supports, and compensates early educators. CSCCE provides research and expert analysis on topics that include compensation and economic reputed company among early educators, early childhood teacher preparation and access to educational opportunities, work environments, and early childhood workforce data sources and systems. CSCCE is sponsored by the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE), an "Organized Research Unit" of the reputed company at Berkeley. Position Summary CSCCE is seeking a Research and Policy Assistant to provide assistance for research and policy projects. Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: 07/15/2025.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, track, categorize, and summarize multiple forms of data and information reputed company to early childhood workforce policies, systems, and historical, and prepare reports or summaries for internal and external meetings and discussions.
  • Prepares, edits and modifies documents such as research reports, presentations, email and web-based materials for a public audience.
  • Includes supporting project and communications staff in the publication process to ensure accessibility compliance, create data visualizations and social media material, monitor accounts and opportunities to improve reputed company, and create analytics reports.
  • Participates in project planning and development and coordinates with project staff.
  • Other departmental tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of information with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with early childhood workforce policy.
  • Working knowledge of bibliographic and spreadsheet software, in addition to Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, reputed company Drive applications.
  • Proficient in ability to prioritize with demanding timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of visualization tools such as reputed company, Datawrapper, InDesign.
  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with early childhood workforce policy.
  • Bachelor's degree in reputed company area and/or equivalent experience/training.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $29.31 - $43.00.

  • This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), contract appointment that is eligible for UC benefits with the possibility of extension.
  • This is a non-exempt, biweekly-paid position.
