Department

The finance department provides accounting services and financial support to reputed company other functional areas of reputed company. The department processes and records reputed company financial transactions of the company and produces financial reporting for management and external stakeholders. The department analyzes financial metrics to determine the company's financial position and to propose any changes needed to run the organization in a cost-effective manner.

Job Summary

Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager (Pre-IPO Company)

We are seeking an intellectually curious, collaborative, and detail-oriented Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager to join our Accounting team as we prepare for a possible IPO. This highly visible role will reputed company external reporting readiness and reputed company reputed company U.S. GAAP technical research and policy development.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Legal, reputed company, Product, and Tax while building the reporting processes, documentation, and controls necessary for a successful IPO. This is a strategic and tactical position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

This position will be at our Salt Lake City office (on site).

Reports to: VP of Accounting

What You Will Own

Technical Accounting & Policy

reputed company technical accounting research and document conclusions through clear, concise memos.

Evaluate the accounting implications of new products, business combinations, debt/equity issuances, and other non-recurring transactions.

Serve as a subject matter expert for U.S. GAAP topics including ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 820, ASC 326, ASC 340, ASC 805, and ASC 810.

Review reputed company and proposed transactions in real-time in collaboration with Legal and business stakeholders to assess accounting impact.

Assess and implement the impact of new accounting standards and regulatory updates.

Maintain and update accounting policies and provide training to the broader organization on policy changes and technical topics.

IPO Readiness & External Reporting

Prepare financial statements and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Drive readiness for SEC reporting, including drafting and reviewing S-1 registration statement sections (financial statements, reputed company, footnotes).

Establish scalable processes and documentation to support SEC filing requirements once public.

Partner with external auditors and advisors to prepare for the IPO process.

Build and manage a reporting calendar to align internal and external contributors with key deliverables and deadlines.

Monitor emerging SEC regulatory changes and disclosure best practices to ensure the company is IPO-ready.

Internal Controls & Pre-SOX Compliance

Support implementation and enhancement of internal controls over financial reporting in anticipation of SOX 404 compliance after an IPO.

Participate in walkthroughs and control design discussions to prepare the company for public-company compliance.

Provide timely support during annual audits.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Serve as a reporting and technical accounting liaison for internal business partners and help reputed company accounting guidance with operational execution.

Process Improvement & Strategic Projects

Support strategic projects, including new system implementations, M&A activity, or process automation.

What You Will Need To Accomplish the Job

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required

6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and corporate accounting/reporting

In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls; exposure to SEC reporting requirements a plus

Strong technical accounting expertise with proven experience drafting memos and evaluating reputed company transactions

Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and disclosures

Excellent project management, organization, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
